Board Talk
The Board of Directors met by teleconference on 7 July. They welcomed Mr Simon Tadd as the new president for Chapter 6 (ACT), replacing Ms Liz Foster who has resigned for personal reasons. Directors also warmly thanked Liz for the work she has done with the chapter over the past 18 months.
Directors were especially pleased to welcome Xponential Fundraising as a Principal Corporate Sponsor of FIA. In 2005 Xponential chose to align their company with FIA’s Awards for Excellence in Fundraising to which they have now added the newly-developed Fundraising Leadership Program, to be delivered in partnership with Melbourne Business School in November 2006. A great partnership, aligning our common interests!
Thanks Xponential!

A number of board committees have been active, including ethics, fellows nominations, chairman elect nominations, awards, codes, MDU, sponsorship, professional development and conference! The professional development committee is about to review the skills curriculum in order to provide greater consistency in the program across Australia – and to update the materials.
Directors approved the development of a committee to focus on charitable telemarketing (in much the same way that the face to face committee was formed). This committee would address two issues in particular: the ongoing need for charities to be exempt from the do not call register and the development of codes of practice.
